I can’t say that I’ve experienced enlightenment, because I don’t believe enlightenment exists. I feel that it’s a mythological state of being, that is subjective, with no way to truly quantify it.
What I can say is that I’ve experienced a state where I can feel every cell in my body activating, evolving, and transmitting information. Where all my chakras are activated. Each with a distinct energy pattern, perfectly harmonized, allowing energy to flow through from the cosmos above, to the ground below.
I’ve had no thought, and no ego.. only the vivid aliveness of my body, mind, and soul connection, as well as a connection to all that is around me. I’ve had information spill into me from a source beyond my current state of experience without any effort or thought of my own.
I’ve seen nothing but beauty all around me, and color spontaneously appearing out of thin air. I’ve felt perfect peace, harmony, bliss and love flowing through me, where I can’t be bothered by negative, harmful, judgemental, or fearful thoughts.
I don’t want to call this enlightenment, but I will say that it’s pretty cool. And with that being said, it’s really nothing more than a particular “state” of experience. I’ve experienced many other states, and look forward to whatever other experiences await me in life.
As I see it, there is no nirvana, and there is no end goal of where our consciousness needs to arrive. Consciousness may raise, or it may lower. Nothing is permanent, and change is inevitable. There is no escape from suffering, as only death can provide this.
We’ve each been gifted with our own individual experience here, entirely unique from any other. I say don’t compromise your unique experience by chasing anybody else’s idea of happiness, or prescription to fulfillment. Especially if they’re charging for the prescription!
As it’s been said, life isn’t about the destination, it’s about the journey. There is nowhere you need to get to in order to achieve happiness. Happiness is available to us immediately, every day, in every moment, regardless of our circumstances. It’s simply a matter of choice to embrace exactly who you are, and exactly where you are on your journey.
I see that so many are caught up in chasing an idea of happiness, whether monetary or spiritual, only to lose the happiness of each moment along the way. And this type of pursuit very rarely ends. There is always a new peak to reach, a desire to create a new state or experience.. or to re-create something we’ve had a glimpse of.
We should embrace our journey, with whatever highs, whatever lows, whatever ups, whatever downs it brings us. I suggest not to worry too much about any destination or end goal, as you might find yourself missing out on the beauty of experiencing your very own journey that you came here to experience.
